From Ancient Flames to Modern Rituals: A Brief History of Candles Did you know that the candles we light to relax today are totally different from what our ancestors used?
Centuries ago, ancient Romans made candles out of animal fat.
They were dark, smoky, and smelled like a greasy kitchen disaster! Later came Beeswax. It smelled amazing like sweet honey and burned cleanly—but it was so expensive that only kings and churches could afford it. In the 1800s, factory paraffin wax made candles cheap for everyone.
The problem? Paraffin is made from petroleum oil, which releases toxic black soot into your clean home.
Today at Your Ritual Hub, we choose better. We use natural soy wax and pure beeswax. They burn slowly, carry beautiful fragrances, and keep your air completely clean.
Stay tuned for our next post, where I’ll show you exactly how I pour these clean, modern rituals!
